Community

As a neighbour to the Hay Point, Sarina and Mackay communities for 30 years, DBCT P/L’s social responsibility to its neighbouring communities is based on a strong desire to make a real and valued contribution to the economic and social development of the area.

In order to encourage the flow of information between the terminal and local stakeholders, DBCT P/L has established a series of initiatives to ensure effective communication and strong relationships between the terminal and the community.

The Lessee and Operator participate in whole-of-port community forums and reference groups, while the Operator hosts its own Community Working Group (CWG) every eight weeks. The CWG comprises representatives from surrounding residential areas and guests who are part of the coal supply chain.

DBCT P/L’s commitment to engaging the community is real, it works and all partnerships are based on trust and integrity.
